Filipino actresses Kim Chiu and Julia Barretto are among the nominees in the prestigious Asian Television Awards 2024.

Chiu has been nominated for Best Actress in a Leading Role for her performance in the Philippine adaptation of “What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim?”

The “Pinoy Big Brother” alumna will be up against seven other Asian actresses: Robyn Malcolm from Australia, Selena Lee and Charmaine Sheh from Hong Kong, and Zhou Xun, Wu Jin-Yan, Ma Sichun, and Xu Fan from China.

Chiu expressed her disbelief over the recognition on X (formerly Twitter), writing in her post, “OMG!! Is this for real? Hala. Nakakaiyak naman, ‘to (I feel like crying).”

The official soundtrack of “What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim?” has also earned a nomination for Best Theme Song.

“What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim?” tells the story of a secretary (Kim) and a narcissistic boss (Paulo Avelino) who fall in love with each other.

Last month, Chiu represented the Philippines as she received her Outstanding Asian Star Award at the 2024 Seoul International Drama Awards.

The “It’s Showtime” host also previously bannered Filipino pride at the Content Asia Awards in Taipei, Taiwan, after she was nominated for Best Female Lead in a TV Program/Series for her performance in the drama series “Linlang.”

Meanwhile, Barretto was nominated for Best Leading Female in a Digital Series for her role in “Secret Ingredient.”

The “Un/Happy for You” actress has been recognized alongside Jessica Hsuan from “Kill Sera Sera,” Fang Rong from “Last Madame: Sisters of the Night,” and Bao Shang-En from “The Legend of Heroes: Hot Blooded.”

“Secret Ingredient” was also nominated for Best Original Digital Series. Barretto leads the series with Korean actor Sang Heon Lee and Indonesian actor Nicholas Saputra.

The 29th edition of the Asian Television Awards will be held in Jakarta, Indonesia, on Nov. 29-30.
