Vic Sotto and Piolo Pascual treated fans to a sneak peek of their upcoming film “The Kingdom,” a confirmed entry to the 50th Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).
Photos of Sotto and Pascual portraying their respective characters in the movie were uploaded by MQuest Ventures on its Facebook page on Monday, October 7.
Perched on a wicker seat in a crisp blue suit, Sotto departed from his usual comic look with an unsmiling expression. His left hand noticeably bore a tattoo, although its meaning remains unknown.
Meanwhile, a gaunt-looking Pascual was pushing a rice plow through a carried a muddy patch in his denim jacket and orange polo shirt.
“First peek. Bossing Vic and Piolo Pascual sa kanilang unang pagsasama sa pelikula na aabangan [ngayong] 2024 MMFF (in their first time to join forces in a much-awaited film in the 2024 MMFF),” the post read.
“The Kingdom” was announced as one of the first batch of MMFF entries in July 2024. It will be directed by Michael Tuviera while Michelle Ngu-Nario wrote its script.
This marks Sotto’s return to the annual film festival since “Mission Unstapabol: The Don Identity” in 2019. Pascual, on the other hand, was the lead star of the MMFF 2023 “Mallari,” where he portrayed three characters.
Details of Sotto and Pascual’s characters and the film’s storyline are yet to be announced, as of press time.
