Amid criticisms over her recent performance at a church, Julie Anne San Jose received support from celebrity couple Dianne Medina and Rodjun Cruz, who stressed that the singer is “not at fault” in the incident.

San Jose earlier made headlines after singing ABBA’s “Dancing Queen” and Lady Gaga’s “The Edge of Glory” for a fundraising concert, while donning a sleeveless dress with a thigh-high slit inside the Nuestra Señora del Pilar parish church in Mamburao, Occidental Mindoro.

The actress-singer as well as her talent management company Sparkle GMA Artist Center had already issued separate apologies, with the latter saying that it is taking responsibility for the incident.

Sharing the talent company’s public apology, Rodjun and Medina – who is the brother and sister-in-law of San Jose’s boyfriend Rayver Cruz – expressed their support for the singer.

“Love you, Julie! Wala kang kasalanan do’n. Professional ka lang talaga at iniisip mo lang palagi na mapasaya at ma-inspire ang mga audience mo,” Rodjun said. “Mahal ka ni Lord! Akap!”

Medina, for her part, wrote, “Mahal na mahal ka namin at alam natin kung ano talaga ang nangyare—yun ang importante. Wala kang kasalanan. We’re just here for you no matter what. Please don’t mind the bashers! Jesus loves you!”

(We love you so much and we know what really happened — that’s what’s important. It’s not your fault. We’re just here for you no matter what. Please don’t mind the bashers! Jesus loves you!)

Rayver earlier comforted San Jose as well by sharing a Bible quote and a message.

“[I] will forever be by your side to hold you and be with you all the time. Let’s keep our faith and make it stronger. I love you so much,” he wrote in an Instagram post.

Meanwhile, the Apostolic Vicariate of San Jose in Mindoro, to which the Mamburao parish belongs, as well as the parish priest have also apologized for the incident.
