Nicholas Pryor dies of cancer at 89
Nicholas Pryor, best known for his portrayals in the film “Risky Business” and drama series “Less Than Zero” and “Beverly Hills, 90210,” has died at 89, his actress wife Christine Belford confirmed.
In a statement obtained by The Hollywood Reporter, Belford disclosed that Pryor passed away on Oct. 7 at his Wilmington, North Carolina, home due to cancer.
The publication also made public Pryor’s note which was delivered to them after his demise.
“Nicholas Pryor was enormously grateful to have been, for nearly 70 years, a working actor,” it read.
Among those who paid tribute to Pryor was the Screen Actors Guild – American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) of which he was a member.

Pryor’s agent, Susan Tolar Walters, remembered him in a statement to Variety. “He was one of the nicest people I have ever met and he will be missed.”
Fellow actor Jon Lindstrom honored Pryor as well via an Instagram post, describing the latter as an “exceptional friend.”
“He was my friend. One of the best I’ve ever had,” Lindstrom wrote. “He was a mentor, a sounding board, a trusted confidant, and even a father-figure…”

Pryor is survived by Belford, his daughter Stacey, and two grandchildren.
