Piers Morgan issued a public apology to couple Beyoncé and Jay-Z, who were accused of doing “nasty things” and having “hundreds of victims” by singer Jaguar Wright via the British broadcaster’s show “Uncensored.”
Wright was among the artists interviewed by Morgan regarding the racketeering, sex trafficking and sexual misconduct charges against Sean “Diddy” Combs, in the show’s Oct. 3 episode.
While speaking about Combs in the interview, Wright mentioned the couple’s names and said, “For four years I’ve been screaming not just Diddy, but Diddy and Jay-Z are monsters.”
“I talk to hundreds [of victims]… I have three victims right now who are willing to give testimony about not only what Mr. Carter (Jay-Z’s surname) has done to them, but his wife as well,” Wright added. “They are a nasty little couple. They do nasty things.”
Morgan, during the show episode aired on Tuesday, Oct. 8, then disclosed that the couple’s legal counsel reached out to him and belied Wright’s serious allegations.
“The thing about platforms, the reality of the modern world is that pretty much everyone has a platform as long as they have something to say that other people want to hear. That’s why we invited [Wright] on to be interviewed,” Morgan said. “The people making these claims have an audience with or without shows like mine.”
“Jaguar, unexpectedly, made several serious allegations about Jay-Z and Beyoncé during that interview. As I said in the moment, they were not present to respond or defend themselves, but now they have,” he continued. “We had lawyers contact us to say that those claims were totally false and have no basis in fact, and we’ve therefore complied with a legal request to cut them from the original interview.”
Morgan also stressed that editing interviews is not something they do lightly in their show, but that they also have legal limits.
“We apologize to Jay-Z and Beyoncé,” he stated.
Meanwhile, Beyoncé’s name has been making rounds on social media—particularly on TikTok—amid a trend where apparent gratitude is being offered to the “Crazy in Love” singer for “good luck.”
This was believed to have stemmed from conspiracy theories about Beyoncé and Jay-Z—some of which are supposedly being linked to accusations against Combs
