Sam Concepcion continues to steal the hearts of netizens with his role as Daniel in “Once on this Island,” as photos of him in a white tank top revealing his muscled arms resurfaced on social media, even though the musical ended its Manila run last September.

Concepcion caught the attention of netizens after photos of him performing with his “Once on this Island” co-stars Angela Ken and Thea Astley, were uploaded on the Instagram page of the theater production arm, 9 Works Theatrical, last September 7.

Even though the photos were posted last month, netizens continue to show admiration for Concepcion in the post, with many noting the theater actor’s physique and handsome appearance.

Others fangirled over Concepcion on X (formerly Twitter) and Facebook, with many referring to him as their childhood crushes and their “daddy.”

‘Meme pa rin’

Concepcion seemed to take the admiration into stride as he joked about being a “meme” on his X account.

“Every now and again nagiging meme pa rin ang dati (I still become a meme),” he wrote.

The theater actor and singer also shared photos of himself as Daniel on his Instagram page, while sharing how he fell in love with the musical throughout its run.

“Fell in love with this show. Going to miss being on the island. Thanks, @9workstheatrical for having me. It’s been [a] blast! Til the next,” he wrote.

His Instagram post again drew netizens’ attention to his muscular arms in the comments section.

Concepcion portrayed the role of Daniel Beauxhomme in the Manila run of “Once on this Island,” which lasted from September 6 to 29. His character was done in alternate stagings with fellow theater actor Jef Flores.

“Once on this Island” is a Caribbean retelling of the fairytale “The Little Mermaid” by Hans Christian Andersen. The musical tells the story of a peasant girl Ti Moune (Angela Ken and Thea Astley) who made a deal with the gods of Death, Love, Earth, and the Water after falling in love with Daniel at first sight.

Ti Moune and Daniel’s love story, however, ended in tragedy after the French nobleman was arranged to be married to Andrea Devereaux (Shanaia Gomez and Krystal Kane).
