Olivia Rodrigo was over the moon after visiting the Philippines for her recent “Silver Star show” in Bulacan and having the chance to reconnect with her Filipino roots, among other experiences.

Rodrigo took to her Instagram page on Sunday, October 6 to express her gratitude to the fans who attended her first concert in the country, which was held at the Philippine Arena last October 5.

“Been dreaming of this show for a whileeeee. My first time in the Philippines and also my biggest venue ever!!!!! thank you to everyone [in] Manila for welcoming me so generously and making me feel so loved… I’m SO stoked that all the net ticket sales from last night could be donated to @jhpiego through my fund 4 good,” she wrote.

Aside from the singer-songwriter’s concert, Rodrigo shared that she also had the chance to visit a non-profit organization that is dedicated to providing healthcare to women.

“I got to visit the organization while I was in Manila and was so impressed by the work they are doing providing healthcare to women and girls in the Philippines,” she said. “It was the most special show and the most meaningful trip. to say I’m grateful doesn’t even cut it! Mahal kita (I love you).”

The “vampire” singer also shared behind-the-scenes glimpses of her “Silver Star” show on her Instagram Stories, where she described it as one of her “most special nights.”

Accompanied by her father Chris and boyfriend Louis Partridge, Rodrigo performed her hit songs “vampire,” “drivers license,” “all-american b—ch,” “bad idea right?,” “traitor,” “teenage dream,” “traitor,” and “ballad of a homeschooled girl,” among many others.

She also donned a sash with the phrase “Miss So Filipina” and even became emotional at one point during the show.

Before her one-night show, she was seen biking around Intramuros, enjoying Filipino food at local restaurants, and entertaining requests for photos from excited fans.

Meanwhile, Partridge shared photos of the places he and Rodrigo visited throughout their stay in the country on Instagram.

Rodrigo was born and raised in the US to a Filipino father and an American-Irish mother. In a 2018 interview, she stated that her paternal great-grandfather and grandfather are full Filipinos, with the former moving to the US as a teen.

The singer-songwriter also shared that she wanted to perform in the Philippines and said that Filipinos will “ride for other Filipino people.”
