Louise delos Reyes admitted that she got “affected” by the bashing she received during the popularity of Maine Mendoza and Alden Richards’ love team, collectively known as “AlDub,” given that she was the first on-screen partner of the latter.
In a latest guest appearance on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” delos Reyes was asked if she and Richards were previously in a real relationship.
“No, kasi may pumasok na po agad na nanligaw na pursigido,” she said.
When asked if the sudden fame of “AlDub” affected her somehow, the actress underscored that she was in a “better headspace” now to understand the bashing.
“Medyo po,” she began. “Pero ngayon kasi nasa posisyon, especially ako na better headspace, dati kasi siyempre iniisip mo, ‘Ano ba ‘yan bakit palaging dinadawit ako?’ Lahat na lang ng sabihin ko mali. Kasi dinadamay ang nanay ko, family ko.”
“Ngayon, naiintindihan ko where they are coming from. So mas okay na ako ngayon in terms of handling those kinds of [bashing],” she added.
During the “Fast Talk” segment, delos Reyes named Richards as her favorite acting partner. She also admitted that she has fallen in love with a leading man, although she did not say if she was referring to Richards.
The duo previously headlined GMA Network’s shows “Alakdana,” “One True Love,” and “Mundo Mo’y Akin.”
Meanwhile, in 2015, Richards and Mendoza met in the “Eat Bulaga” segment “Kalserye.” In a short span of time, the pair became one of the popular love teams in the Philippine show business, reaching not just local reception but also international fame.
Right now, Richards is now getting paired up with Kapamilya star Kathryn Bernardo, as they are set to reprise their roles in “Hello, Love, Again,” the sequel to the 2019 blockbuster movie “Hello, Love, Goodbye.”
On the other hand, Mendoza is now married to actor-politician Arjo Atayde.
