After tapping famous names associated with the Miss Universe pageant, the Miss Cosmo competition has turned to another major global tilt to recruit one of its titleholders as host—Miss International 2016 Kylie Verzosa.
The Filipino beauty queen and actress, the sixth winner from the Philippines in the Tokyo-based Miss International pageant, has been tasked to host two major events in the inaugural staging of the Miss Cosmo pageant.
“The Miss Cosmo Organization is thrilled to announce that internationally renowned Filipina actress, model, presenter, and beauty queen, Kylie Verzosa, will serve as the host for the Preliminary Night and Grand Finale of Miss Cosmo 2024,” the Vietnamese organizers posted on social media late night on Friday, Sept. 27.
The pageant earlier announced that former Miss Universe Organization President Paula Shugart and 2021 Miss Universe winner Harnaaz Sandhu will join the jury panel.
In announcing Verzosa’s involvement with Miss Cosmo, the organization cited her “passion for women empowerment” as CEO and founder of Sola, a shapewear brand that embraces all body types.
“As host of Miss Cosmo 2024, Verzosa is poised to elevate the event with her grace, poise, and captivating presence. With her vast experience in pageantry and her influence as an empowered woman, she is the perfect choice to lead both the Semifinals and Grand Finals, inspiring contestants and audiences alike,” the Miss Cosmo pageant added.
The Preliminary Night is scheduled on Oct. 2, while the Grand Finale will be held on Oct. 5. Both events will take place at the Phu Tho Stadium in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
Pageant veteran and 2018 Miss International first runner-up Ahtisa Manalo is representing the Philippines in the 2024 Miss Cosmo pageant. Filipino-Kiwi actress and former “Pinoy Big Brother” housemate Franki Russell is the delegate from New Zealand.
