Another famous Miss Universe figure is joining the jury panel of the first-ever staging of the Miss Cosmo pageant, Indian beauty Harnaaz Sandhu.
After announcing former Miss Universe Organization (MUO) Pres. Paula Shugart as the first member of its jury panel, the Vietnam-based international pageant recruited Sandhu, who became the third Indian woman to be crowned Miss Universe when she won the title in 2021.
“The Miss Cosmo organization is delighted to announce Ms. Harnaaz Sandhu – Miss Universe 2021, will be joining the distinguished panel of judges for Miss Cosmo 2024,” the Vietnam-based organizers posted on social media on Wednesday night, Sept. 25.
“Her advocacy for women’s education, career development, and freedom of choice resonates with her commitment to women’s empowerment. As a judge, Harnaaz’s commitment to these values will align with Miss Cosmo’s mission to uplift and empower women globally,” the Miss Cosmo organization added.
Also included in the jury panel is Vietnamese beauty queen Nguyen Kim Duyen, Sandhu’s 2021 Miss Universe batchmate who finished third in the 2022 Miss Supranational pageant.
Another former Miss Universe Vietnam titleholder, H’Hen Nie, who finished in the Top 5 in the 2018 international pageant, walked for the Miss Cosmo fashion show in Ninh Binh with the delegates.
The Miss Cosmo pageant is pulling out all stops for its inaugural staging, bringing the delegates to popular destinations in Vietnam, from Hanoi up north, to Ho Chi Minh down south.
The 2024 Miss Cosmo coronation night will be held at the Phu Tho Indoor Stadium in Ho Chi Minh City on Oct. 5. Pageant veteran Ahtisa Manalo is representing the Philippines, while Filipino-Kiwi “Pinoy Big Brother” alumna Franki Russell is carrying New Zealand.
