Priscilla Meirelles said she has come to a realization that she shouldn’t have gotten married “so early” when she was at her prime, although she pointed out that she has no regrets about how her life had turned out.

In an interview with Luis Manzano for his vlog, which was uploaded on his YouTube channel on September 24, Meirelles recalled how getting married changed the time frame of her life.

“I had plans para sa buhay ko (I had plans in my life), time frame [kumbaga]. I think, nowadays, the time frame changed so much. If there’s one thing that I would change — but I do not regret — but if I could change it, I shouldn’t have gotten married so early,” she said when asked about the regrets in her life.

Meirelles said being a married woman made her “stop doing lots of things,” which limited her life. “Your focus is on your family and kids. I did focus on my family and my daughter. I was a full-time mom.”

Despite this, the Miss Earth 2004 titleholder reiterated that she had a wonderful family, and will someday “resume” her old dreams at the right time.

“I didn’t regret [it], I have a wonderful family and a wonderful kid but I deprived myself of a lot of dreams that I had. I prayed that this time around, I can somehow resume them or achieve some of them,” the Brazilian model-actress said.

Meirelles said she was in Brazil for a vacation following her recent spat with her estranged husband John Estrada.

“I was not here. Nag-vacation ako sa Brazil. Most of the time, I didn’t have access to the majority of the things. I didn’t know what was going on here… when I arrived in the Philippines, medyo nakalma na (things have calmed down),” she said.

The Miss Earth 2004 and Miss Globe International 2003 titleholder was 27 years old when she wed Estrada on February 11, 2011 at a star-studded ceremony in La Union. Their marriage was blessed with the coming of their daughter Anechka in 2012.

The breakdown of their marriage was put on spotlight after the former beauty queen said the latter “looked very divorced” during the actor’s vacation in Boracay.

A few days later, the “FPJ’s Ang Batang Quiapo” star announced that he and Meirelles have agreed to take a “mutual break,” a claim that the former beauty queen vehemently denied on social media.

Just recently, however, the pair made headlines after reuniting for a F1 Grand Prix junket in Singapore, but Meirelles clarified that it was meant to be a work event.
