Reuniting for a joint concert to reflect on their memories has improved the relationship of ex-partners Gabby Concepcion and Sharon Cuneta, according to the actor.
In a TV Patrol report broadcast on Wednesday, Sept. 18, the actor knows that he and Cuneta would not be as close as before, but being on amicable terms with his ex-wife is already enough for him.
“Hindi ko inaasahan na of course, magiging tulad ng dati, but at least, nag-uusap kami about certain things na hindi namin napag-uusapan before (I don’t expect that of course, our bond will be the same as before. But at least, we’re able to talk about certain things that we couldn’t discuss before),” he said.
The actor’s brief statement comes after it was announced that Concepcion and Cuneta are taking their “Dear Heart” concert to cities in the US and Canada in October and November.
The areas included are California, Las Vegas in Nevada, and Honolulu in Hawaii in the US; and Winnipeg in Manitoba, Oakville in Ontario, and Surrey in British Columbia in Canada.
With this in mind, Concepcion told ABS-CBN News that he’s hopeful his daughter KC Concepcion will be part of the tour, although it would be the production’s call.
“Kung may tinanim ka, tinanim namin ay ‘Dear Heart.’ Ang bunga si KC. Masarap sana makasama natin (If you plant something, which in our case is ‘Dear Heart,’ our fruit is KC. It would be nice to have her join us),” he was quoted as saying.
Concepcion and Cuneta’s US and Canada tour was confirmed earlier this month. The reunion concert is based on their 1981 film “Dear Heart.” They previously staged a show in Cebu and Pasay City last year.
The ex-couple, who was previously known as the ShaGab love team, wed in 1984 and welcomed KC in 1985. After a controversial split, their marriage was annulled three years later.
