The Philippines’ Jeanne Isabelle Bilasano has made a mark this early in the 2024 Face of Beauty International pageant taking place in Taiwan, as she is now in contention for two important special awards—Best in Swimsuit and Best in Evening Gown.

The proclamation was made during the preliminary competition show held at the Fame Hall Garden Hotel in Taoyuan City, Taiwan, on Wednesday, Sept. 11. Filipino swimsuit designer Domz Ramos’ DR Swim provided the swimsuits.

Bilasano was joined by the delegates from Taiwan and Thailand in the top three top spots in the swimsuit round. She and the Thai bet were also among the three top contenders in the evening gown segment, along with the candidate from Tonga.

The registered speech pathologist from Albay is on a quest to record the Philippines’ first victory in the international competition, now holding its 12th edition. No Filipino woman has ever bagged the crown in the global tilt.

Bilasano received the Face of Beauty Philippines title after emerging as one of the finalists in the 2024 Miss World Philippines pageant held in July, marking a triumphant return for her in national pageantry.

She previously joined the 2023 Binibining Pilipinas pageant, where she finished in the Top 11, and was also proclaimed as Best in National Costume and Bb. Careline.

Bilasano is under the guidance of queenmaker and renowned fashion designer Renee Salud and some of the Philippines’ most well-loved beauty queens—1984 Miss Universe third runner-up Desiree Verdadero, 1991 Miss International semifinalist Patty Betita and 1992 Binibining Pilipinas-Maja Marina Benipayo.

The 2024 Face of Beauty International pageant will hold its “Global Grand Finale” at the Lin Palace in Kaohsiung, southern Taiwan, on Sept. 19.
