LOOK: Preview Ball 2024’s best-dressed celebrities
Nudes and neutrals took center stage at the 2024 edition of the Preview Ball, where some of the biggest celebrities, fashion influencers, content creators, and designers graced the event with their own interpretations of the “skin tone creative formal” theme on the “nude” carpet.
The star-studded event, held on Friday, Sept. 6 at the Marriott Hotel in Pasay City, was a celebration of the fashion industry and authenticity, as the theme is meant to showcase the beauty of being confident in one’s skin.
“This is a community for [the fashion industry and creatives], which is ultimately our goal — to have a thriving Filipino fashion community,” Preview editor-in-chief Marj Ramos-Clemente told INQUIRER.net on the sidelines of the event.
Here are some of the standout looks of the night.
Kathryn Bernardo
All hail the queen of the night! For someone as breathtakingly beautiful as Kathryn Bernardo, she would inevitably be the belle of the ball. Bernardo, who was revealed as the fashion magazine’s cover girl, was a head-turner in a Mark Bumgarner creation with handcrafted fabric floral appliqués on her chest and hips, along with a sheer tulle hugging her curves. A bronzed makeup look, pulled-back hairdo, and silver accessories completed the look.

Styled by celebrity stylist Lyn Alumno, Niana Guerrero stayed true to her Preview Best-Dressed title by opting for a matching nude and orange top and pants ensemble, which, though unconventional for a formal event, worked wonders in her favor. The top has long sleeves and a raised collar, while her pants are done in the same color scheme with orange and green paint-like pattern.

Chanty Videla’s doll-like beauty shone as she brought a youthful twist to her old Hollywood-inspired look, which consisted of a nude halter ballgown, with a tulle bodice and a ribbon-halter neckline. The elegant look was complemented by Chanty’s bun with braids, silver accessories, and a black and green clutch.
Ces Drilon
Touching on her love for “separates” that can mix and match, Ces Drilon brought effortless elegance to the nude carpet in a brown denim halter top with a cascading hem and matching wide-leg pants, designed by Jaggy Glarino. The broadcast journalist also went for a side-swept hairdo and matching gold accessories to bring her stylish look together — truly worthy of a Preview Best-Dressed title.
Sassa Gurl
Sassa Gurl brought out her inner Barbie, complete with a blonde wig tied in a high ponytail and a nude catsuit by Christian Paculan. The internet personality upped the campiness by stacking up hot pink bracelets and matching necklaces, earrings, and a hairclip, as well as a gold chain belt, and white block heels.
Precious Paula Nicole
“Drag Race Philippines” season one winner Precious Paula Nicole embraced her rich b*tch fantasy in her bedazzled blazer armed with pearls, scrap fabric, bead- and gemstone-encrusted appliques, lace trimmings, and intricate beadwork, which stood as the centerpiece of her overall look. A pair of gold dangling earrings, black tights, and a white body-hugging top with pleated details completed the look, without being too gaudy.
Angelina Cruz
It’s rare to exude an aura of elegance early on, but Angelina Cruz proved she has the elegance of a queen in a nude Al Rey Rosano gown which features a simple tube top and a pleated skirt done in a wing-like formation. Angelina opted to show off her natural waves and simple silver accessories as if she were allowing her siren-like appeal to take center stage.
James Reid
Bringing a touch of elegance to his usual ensembles, James Reid traded his oversized polos and sleeveless tank tops for an eye-catching “nude carpet” look, without losing his signature sense of style. The singer-songwriter opted for a white blazer made of tulle over a nude tank with handsewn patterns, nude trousers, and dark brown leather shoes — which matched the beige tulle-lined two-piece gown of his girlfriend, Issa Pressman.
Melai Cantiveros
Melai Cantiveros brought reporters to laughter and awe on the nude carpet as she was among the standout celebrities with her dramatic, off-shoulder mini dress by Job Dacon. The mini dress is the perfect complement to Cantiveros’ larger-than-life personality, with its handcrafted rose-like detail on the hips and shoulder blades, providing some sort of a cape.
Gazini Ganados
The moment Miss Universe Philippines 2019 Gazini Ganados stepped on the nude carpet, all eyes were on her as she was reminiscent of a Greek goddess. Donning a body-hugging gold gown, Gazini completed her look with a low ponytail with long bangs framing her face. She accessorized with a gold headband, glove bracelet, and gold earrings.
