Six representatives from overseas Filipino communities made it to the Top 16 of the Mutya ng Pilipinas 2024 pageant, announced at the coronation show held at the FilOil EcoOil Centre in San Juan tonight, Sept. 6.
Best in Swimsuit Alyssa Redondo from California was joined by fellow United States-based Aiyen Ysabel Maquiraya from Washington State in the first cut.
Middle East-based delegates Fredmarie Angelu Ayan from Abu Dhabi and Elizah Mendoza from Dubai also made it to through the first cut.
Also advancing were multiple award recipient Arianna Pantaleon from Canada, and Rozette Wozniak from Melbourne, Australia.
One of the titles at stake in the competition is Mutya ng Pilipinas-Overseas Communities, which has been awarded every year.
On the homefront, pageant veteran Lorraine Jara from Bulacan secured a Top 16 spot by leading the “People’s Choice” voting. Actress Xena Ramos from Manila also moved forward.
Limgas na Pangasinan 2023 titleholder Stacey De Ocampo and reigning Mutya ng Pilipinas-Pampanga winner Anne Klein Castro also made it to the Top 16, together with Princess Julianne Opiaza from Zambales, sister of 2023 Miss Universe Philippines first runner-up CJ Opiaza.
Also moving to the next round are Palawan’s Glyzel Anne Nathalie Suyat, Laguna’s Kathleen Kate Guio-Guio, Davao City’s Jireh Mayani, Batangas City’s Liana Barrido, and Christine Enero from San Dionisio, Parañaque City.
The Mutya ng Pilipinas pageant is celebrating its 56th anniversary this year. The competition will choose the country’s representatives to the Miss Intercontinental, Miss Tourism International, and World Top Model contests.
