Two former Mutya ng Pilipinas queens will return to the national pageant as coronation night hosts—Pauline Amelinckx and Ganiel Krishnan—who will share the stage with motoring scribe James Deakin.

The 2024 Mutya ng Pilipinas coronation night will be held at the FilOil Eco Oil Center in San Juan City on Friday, Sept. 6. Thirty-one ladies are competing in this year’s pageant.

Amelinckx, first runner-up in the 2023 Miss Supranational pageant, was crowned Mutya ng Pilipinas-Global Beauty Queen at the 50th anniversary celebration of the national tilt in 2018, while Krishan was proclaimed as Mutya ng Pilipinas-Asia Pacific International in 2016.

Krishnan is a regular “star patroller” for ABS-CBN’s “TV Patrol” and other newscasts, while Amelinckx has been going around the country as a host of live events, and to mentor pageant aspirants in public speaking.

P-Pop girl group Kaia, OC-J, and “Idol Philippines” season 2 winner Khimo are set to perform on the Mutya ng Pilipinas stage for the pageant’s 56th anniversary edition this year.

The Mutya ng Pilipinas pageant has been under the stewardship of its president, Cory Quirino, since 2019. It posted a banner year last year when Shannon Robinson scored the Philippines’ first victory in the Miss Environment International contest, and Annie Uson became the country’s first Miss Chinese World winner.

Jeanette Reyes was also crowned as Miss Tourism Metropolitan International, while Iona Gibbs advanced to the Top 20 of the Miss Intercontinental pageant. Arianna Padrid, meanwhile, finished second in the World Top Model contest’s 2023 edition held in February 2024.

This year’s competition will award the following titles—Mutya ng Pilipinas-Intercontinental, Mutya ng Pilipinas-Tourism International, Mutya ng Pilipinas-World Top Model, Mutya ng Pilipinas-Overseas Communities, and Mutya ng Pilipinas-Charity.

The runners-up will likewise receive their respective titles—Mutya ng Pilipinas-Luzon, Mutya ng Pilipinas-Visayas, and Mutya ng Pilipinas-Mindanao.
