Coney Reyes admits getting matchmaking offers for son Vico Sotto
Coney Reyes admitted getting a lot of matchmaking invites for her son, Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto, but she stressed that she does not meddle with the politician’s love life.
This was brought up during Reyes’ “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” interview on Monday, Sept. 2, when show host Abunda asked if Vico is “lapitin,” or very appealing to women.
Reyes initially didn’t want to delve into the topic, saying she might say things she shouldn’t. As Abunda insisted, the veteran actress responded, “Siguro. Maraming nagkakagusto talaga kahit di namin kilala.”
The TV host then asked Reyes if she interferes with Vico’s love life, to which she replied, “Hindi ako nakikialam.”
“Merong mga gusto, [sinasabi nila,] ‘Tita, ipakilala natin si ganito, si ganyan.’ Sabi ko, ‘Sorry ‘di ako nakikialam,'” she stated. “Tapos sasabihin nila sa akin, ‘Ay, ang strict ni Tita’—Ay hindi sa strict! Hindi ako strict, kung strict ako e ‘di bawal.'”

“Noong araw ginagawa ko, ‘Do you have a girlfriend na? Do you like somebody?’ Noon ‘yon. Ayoko na,” she said.
“Well he had girlfriends, friends, mga classmates niya before, mga ganyan and they would all go out as a group… Pero hindi naman kasi ako ano e—alam ko that I’ve raised my children in a way na they know that meron silang fear of God. They know what they are doing,” she added.
Vico is Reyes’ son with “Eat Bulaga” host Vic Sotto.
Reyes has two other children with ex-husband, former basketball player Lawrence Mumar — son LA, and daughter Carla.
