Pablo and Stell Ajero of SB19 are excited to work together but affirmed that they will separate their being bandmates in their duty as coaches in the new edition of “The Voice Kids Philippines.”
During the show’s media conference on Wednesday, Sept. 5, the duo gave a glimpse of how their dynamics would be as judges by teasing each other that they needed to separate their being bandmates.
“Oo, ganon agad, si Stell ‘yan. Iset aside na ‘yan,” joked Pablo.
“Dapat iset aside. Walang grupo-grupo dito. Unang pasok niya pa lang dito ang una niya daw pong game play ay durugin ako,” responded Stell.
“Ganto po kami mag-asaran,” said Pablo, with Stell responding, “‘Di ‘to biro, totoo ‘to Pablo.”
Pablo is the new addition to the roster of coaches for the upcoming season of the reality singing competition, while Stell is the defending judge champion from the last season, “The Voice Generations.”
When asked what made him say yes to joining the show as judge, SB19’s leader remarked that he was shocked that he got the offer, knowing that Stell is already part of the team.
“Nung first time ko po marinig na inooffer ‘yung pagiging coach sa The Voice Kids nagulat po talaga ako kasi hindi ko siya inieexpect kasi nandito na si Stell, pero for me, parang sobrang interested rin po ako sa kaniya kasi nasa point in life ako na gusto kong ibahagi talaga ‘yung knowledge na natutunan ko, especially sa pagpeperform with these guys (SB19) for almost seven years na ata po,” shared Pablo.

Friendly competition
Pablo, leader of SB19, said he immediately felt welcomed by his fellow judges. He shared there is one thing that he wanted to instill in the children who would join the competition.
“Syempre bata ‘yung tuturuan namin mahalaga na makita nila na this is a friendly environment kasi pag dating sa mga bata all positive, minsan kailangan mo ng mga criticism here and there. Pero sa stage nila, mahalaga na may nagpupush sa kanila,” he said.
“This is a competition. This is a small part of their journey as singers. Kailangan mapaintindi sa kanila na kahit nandito sila nagcocompete with each other, ang mahalaga ‘yung mabubuo nila na friendship, ‘yung knowledge na matutunan nila para paglabas nila ng The Voice Kids, mas maenhance nila ‘yung abilities nila,” added the P-pop singer.
No pressure
Meanwhile, Stell declared that “he doesn’t feel any pressure” to defend his post as winning judge as he wanted to enjoy the competition more.
“I don’t feel any pressure po talaga. Mas gusto ko po siya enjoyin,” said the SB19 main vocalist. “I think it will be challenging for me kasi nga po it’s kids.”
“I have experience with kids na kasi meron akong pamangkin, mga pinsan na bata pero kasi ito I’m dealing with their dreams din. Parang syempre at their young age, ayoko naman na ako rin ‘yung magiging dahilan para masira ‘yung pangarap na magkasama namin binubuo,” he added.
Stell stated that having served as one of the coaches in the previous season made him better at decision-making.
“Siguro pinatatag ng kaunti ‘yung pagkatao ko when it comes to decision-making, kasi at the end of the day this is a competition pa rin,” he said.
“The Voice Kids Philippines” will start airing on GMA Network on Sept. 15.
