SB19 grateful to fans after ‘Pagtatag!’ named highest Filipino docu film

P-pop powerhouse SB19 reached another milestone in their careers as the “Pagtatag!” documentary, which covered the highs and lows of their “Pagtatag!” era, is currently the highest-grossing Filipino documentary film.

SB19 took to their social media platforms on Monday, Sept. 2 to celebrate their documentary film’s achievement. The box office sales of the documentary film have yet to be announced, as of press time.

“We officially made history as the highest-grossing Filipino documentary film to date! Thank you, A’TIN, for your unwavering support and for making this milestone possible. This achievement is for all of us! Let’s continue to reach greater heights together,” the post read.

Meanwhile, the docu film’s director Jed Regala expressed his gratitude to the group’s fans for their support on his Instagram page.

“This is a testament to the movement @officialsb19 started! This is P-pop! This is passion, perseverance, and [hard work]!
I am grateful to be blessed with the opportunity to show this journey through my lens,” he said.

Regala also thanked SB19’s members, their self-managed label 1Z Entertainment, and his production studio for the hard work they put into the documentary film.

“It wouldn’t have been complete without the insights from @imszmc_ @josh_cullen_s @stell16_ @felipsuperior @jahdedios. I always enjoy working with you all, salamat ulit sa tiwala (thank you again for the trust),” he said. “And my team in @firstlightstudiosmanila para sa Atin to (this is for us)! More to come!

The documentary film centers around SB19’s career milestones and hardships throughout their “Pagtatag!” era, including the production of their second EP, world tour, as well as a glimpse into their legal battle with their former agency, ShowBT Philippines.

In a talkback session for the film, the group said “Pagtatag! The Documentary” is a way of connecting with their fans (or A’TIN) while inspiring viewers to remain firm in pursuing their dreams.

“We want to show it’s possible to do the impossible… it is to get inspiration not only to the people in the same field as ours but also to those who are feeling lost, so they would have the drive to move forward,” said SB19’s Josh, explaining their goal behind the documentary film.
