Gretchen Barretto appeared to be enjoying herself as a doting grandmother to Penelope Eloise, the daughter of her unica hija Dominique Cojuangc0-Hearn.
Wearing a smile on her face, Barretto can be seen watching over her granddaughter in a picture shared by Cojuangco-Hearn in a now-expired Instagram Story on Sunday, August 25, with Penelope Eloise’s face covered with a white heart.

While Barretto has been taking a break from the limelight, the actress has been supportive of her daughter’s marriage to eventual motherhood. Her recent public appearance in June 2024 showed the actress treating her friends to a house tour.
Cojuangco-Hearn, the only daughter of Barretto and businessman Tonyboy Cojuangco, gave birth to Penelope Eloise in May 2024. She announced her pregnancy in November 2023, then was treated to a baby shower a month before welcoming her first child.
Barretto’s daughter married her business partner-boyfriend Michael Hearn, in a grand ceremony at the San Agustin Church in Manila in March 2023 after their engagement in October 2021. The couple first met at the British School Manila, but it was only until 2018 when sparks developed between them.
