TV5 officially terminated the employment of a program manager who was accused of sexual harassment by a male talent (or casual employee) of the Kapatid network.
In a Facebook post of Senator Raffy Tulfo’s service-oriented program on Tuesday, August 22, it announced that TV5 chairman and business magnate Manuel V Pangilinan personally informed him that the respondent, identified as the network’s News and Current Affairs program manager, Cliff Gingco, has been sacked from his post and dismissed from company service after an investigation showed that there’s strong evidence against him.
(TV5 Chairman Manuel V. Pangilinan personally communicated with Sen. Idol Raffy Tulfo to announce that the investigation done by the network regarding the complaint of molestation by Cliff Gingco, program manager of TV5 News and Public Affairs, on a new talent is over.)
(And it appeared in the investigation that the complaint against Gingco had a strong basis, so TV5 decided to terminate his employment.)
The statement also stated that the Kapatid network will provide medical assistance, among others, to help the victim, as well as help prepare the criminal charges that Gingco will be facing in the eyes of the law.
(Chairman MVP also added that TV5 will provide full support to the victim, particularly medical assistance such as therapy and other needs.)
(In addition to this, Gingco is also currently facing a criminal case in the fiscal office, where RTIA is assisting and focusing to ensure that the case progresses smoothly.)
On the Aug. 9 episode “Raffy Tulfo in Action,” a new program researcher from TV5 came forward about alleged sexual harassment he experienced at the hands of a program manager from the same network. He claimed that he was sexually harassed in a hotel in Pasig on July 23 at 1:30 a.m.
