South Korean-Australian actress Yerin Ha will take on the role of Sophia Beckett, the love interest of Benedict Bridgerton, in the fourth season of the hit series “Bridgerton,” according to reports from US media.

Ha’s casting was first reported by US-based entertainment outlet Variety on Friday, August 16. However, it also stated that representatives for the actress, show, and streaming platform declined to comment, as of press time.

Beckett is the love interest of Benedict, who will be the lead character of the show’s upcoming season. Reports stated that the eight-episode series will be aired sometime in 2025 or 2026.

Based on the novel “An Offer From A Gentleman” by Julia Quinn, “Bridgerton” season four was confirmed by the streaming platform in July 2024, which showed Luke Thompson (Benedict) being asked to get ready for an upcoming masquerade ball.

The storyline revolves around Benedict (Thompson) meeting and being captivated by Sophie Beckett at his mother’s masquerade ball. However, apart from her glamorous silver gown, she is treated as a lowly housemaid in her stepmother’s home despite her background as a nobility.

Ha is best known for her lead role in the science fiction series “Halo” which aired from 2022 to 2024. She also appeared in the Australian series “Bad Behavior” and “Troppo.”
