After skipping 2023, the Mutya ng Pilipinas pageant is back, and ready to accept applicants for its 52nd edition this year.

“SAAN KA MUTYA? The 56th [anniversary] Edition of Mutya ng Pilipinas is all set for its General and Final Screening on August 18, 2024, at 7:00 AM,” the national pageant posted on social media on Monday, Aug. 12.

The last time the Mutya ng Pilipinas pageant held a competition was in December 2022, an edition that was held after skipping two years because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

It celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2018, producing Miss Asia Pacific International Sharifa Akeel and Dream Girl of the Year International Aya Fernandez. It then mounted its 50th edition in 2019.

The “general and final screening” of the 2024 Mutya ng Pilipinas pageant will take place at Fairmont Hotels and Resorts in Makati City, and will start at 7 A.M.

Applicants are requested to bring a formal cocktail dress, and a swimsuit with a sarong or sheer coverup.

The competition is open to cisgender women with at least one parent in the direct paternal or maternal line possessing Filipino citizenship.

Applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 28 during the year of the competition, and must have graduated from high school.

Aspirants should possess beauty of face and figure, charm, wit and intelligence, and must have no criminal record. They should also be single, have never been married, given birth, or gotten pregnant.

Interested applicants can download the application form via a link posted on the Mutya ng Pilipinas social media pages. Ladies may also send an e-mail to mutyangpilipinasofficial.info@gmail.com for inquiries.

The national pageant will choose the Philippines’ representatives to the Miss Intercontinental and Miss Tourism International pageants, and the World Top Model competition.

It will also still proclaim the winner of the Mutya ng Pilipinas-Overseas Communities title, the same award won in 2017 by former Miss USA Savannah Gankiewicz.
