Kaye Abad, Paul Jake Castillo laugh off Daniel Padilla issue

Celebrity couple Kaye Abad and Paul Jake Castillo laughed off the time when the actress was linked to Daniel Padilla, as she joked that she didn’t know the latter was into older women.

The couple sat down with broadcast journalist Karen Davila and talked about their lives in Cebu away from the limelight.

“Mas tahimik. Walang issue. Walang nangingialam,” said the actress. (Quieter. No issues. No one interferes with your life.)

Her remark was followed by a quip from her husband, who mentioned Padilla’s name. 

“Daniel Padilla, ‘di ba?” he said, eliciting laughter from his wife and Davila.

“Akalain mo ‘yon si Daniel, mahilig sa tita (Would you believe Daniel is fond of older women),” said Abad, whom Castillo jokingly called a “cougar.”

“Alam mo bilib ako natatawa na lang [siya] (It’s amazing how he just laughs it off),” said Davila, pointing to Castillo.

“Oo, nu’ng lumabas ‘yung issue, sabi niya pa, ‘Wala ba akong picture with Kathryn (Bernardo) diyan? Sabi ko, ‘Bakit?’ Kasi magpo-post daw siya ng, ‘Pare, you take mine, I take yours,'” recalled Abad as they continued to laugh off the rumor. (When the issue came out, he even said, “Don’t I have a picture with Kathryn?” I said, “Why?” He said he would post something like, “Buddy, you take mine, I take yours.”)

The “Tabing Ilog” actress affirmed that she and her husband are not the jealous type and rarely pay attention to rumors.

Abad and Castillo tied the knot in December 2016 and share two sons; they recalled that they started off as friends.

Meanwhile, Padilla made headlines last year following his separation from his longtime girlfriend and on-screen partner Kathryn Bernardo.

Many women were dragged into the breakup of the ex-couple, including Abad alongside Andrea Brillantes and Gillian Vicencio.

Recently, Padilla was linked to former “Pinoy Big Brother” housemate Amanda Zamora, which was debunked by the latter and her father, San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora.
