Miss Grand Philippines 2024 final screening scheduled on Aug. 29
The country’s quest for the elusive “golden crown” continues with the selection of Miss Grand Philippines 2024 candidates later this month, the ladies who will compete for the right to represent the nation in this year’s edition of the Miss Grand International pageant.
“THE SEARCH IS ON FOR MISS GRAND PHILIPPINES 2024!!! Save the date because the long wait is finally over! Miss Grand Philippines announces its FINAL SCREENING for its latest batch of aspiring queens on August 29, 2024, Thursday, at Okada Manila,” the national pageant posted on social media on Friday, Aug. 9.
“It’s going to be a ‘grand’ spectacle filled with excitement and anticipation as we search for our next Miss Grand Philippines. Whether you’re a seasoned pageant veteran or a first-time applicant, this is your chance to take the spotlight and make a lasting impression on the global pageant stage,” the post continued.
The pageant said it is looking for ladies who are the “epitome of beauty, charisma and talent, as well as a passion for advocacy and social responsibility,” and invited interested individuals to download the application form via a link.
Applicants must accomplish the application form, and submit it with their full body, swimsuit and closeup photos via e-mail at [email protected].
Article continues after this advertisementAt the final screening of the sister contest Miss World Philippines, organizer ALV Pageant Circle announced that the Miss Grand Philippines pageant was originally scheduled in August, with two additional titles — Universal Woman Philippines and Miss Multinational Philippines.
Article continues after this advertisementBut the Miss Multinational Philippines crown was already awarded at the 2024 Miss World Philippines pageant held on July 19, and it went to Nicki Buenafe from Pangasinan. Three additional titles were also bestowed to their recipients during the show.
The Miss Grand Philippines pageant still has not made an official announcement pertaining to the date and venue of the final show, as well as the other titles at stake in the competition.
No Filipino woman has ever clinched the Miss Grand International title. The Philippines’ highest placement, so far, is first runner-up, courtesy of Nicole Cordoves in 2016 and Samantha Bernardo in 2020.
Reigning Miss Grand Philippines titleholder is Nikki De Moura, runner-up in the Asia-wide reality competition “Supermodel Me: Revolution” in 2021. She was also crowned Miss Teen Philippines in 2019.
