Aside from starring and directing his own TV series “Batang Quiapo,” Coco Martin has also joined “Pamilya Sagrado” to direct some of its action scenes.

Martin’s “grand collaboration” with the Piolo Pascual-led series was announced by ABS-CBN PR and Dreamscape Entertainment through its Instagram pages on Thursday, Aug. 8.

Martin said that when his team received a message from Dreamscape Entertainment asking for help in the political drama’s fight scenes, he did not hesitate to say yes.

“Syempre alang-alang kay Sir Deo [Endrinal],” Martin said in a “TV Patrol” interview, referring to the late Dreamscape Entertainment head.

Last June, Pascual said that “Pamilya Sagrado” was one of Endrinal’s final projects before his death in February 2024.

“Tsaka sabi ko nga, isang malaking karangalan para sa akin ang ma-direct si Kuya PJ (Pascual) at lahat ng mga veteran actors dito,” Martin added.

Martin noted that this is his first time to direct an action scene that is not from a TV series he stars in. The actor-director also admitted that it was quite stressful for him, but that he still finds it exciting.

Aside from Pascual, “Pamilya Sagrado” boasts a powerhouse cast that includes Tirso Cruz III, John Arcilla, Joel Torre, Mylene Dizon, Grae Fernandez, Kyle Echarri, Rosanna Roces, Shaina Magdayao, Aiko Melendez, Daniella Stranner and Jeremiah Lisbo.
