Dominic Roque clapped back at a netizen who accused him of being the significant other of Dapitan City Mayor Bullet Jalosjos.

On Instagram, Roque posted a mirror selfie along with other photos taken in July.

“Half of Hulyo, mostly phone photos,” wrote the actor-model in his caption. In the comments section, a netizen commented, “Happy ‘yung jowa ni Bullet.” (Bullet’s boyfriend is happy.)

Roque did not hesitate to respond by saying, “Luhh epal oh (someone is being annoying) [laughing emoji].”

After Roque’s engagement with actress Bea Alonzo was called off early this year, his sexuality was questioned, and he became the center of romantic allegations involving Jalosjos and former Quezon City Congressman Bong Suntay.

The two politicians were accused of being Roque’s “benefactors” or “sugar daddies” given their closeness, which they debunked by airing their side in an interview with Jay Ruiz in February.

“Nag-umpisa ‘yan sa pagmo-motor, nagka-karera kami sa Clark. And then, from there, naging good friends kami,” said Jalosjos, adding that he and Roque help each other, even with their business ventures.

(It started with motorcycling; we raced in Clark, and then, from there, we became good friends.)

“Kaya nakakapagtaka na umabot sa ganito, na even ang genders namin ang pinagkakaguluhan na ngayon ng marami at nangtatanong kung talagang lalaki ba talaga kami,” continued the politician.

(So it is surprising that it has reached this point, that even our genders are now being questioned by many people, asking if we are really men.)

At the time, Jalosjos also clarified that Roque did live in his condo alone for three years as a paying tenant.

“Ginawa ko siyang Airbnb, but because of the pandemic, pinagbawalan kami i-open for Airbnb. Siyempre, as a friend, barkada, Dom asked me if I wanted to have it rented,” he explained. “Natawa lang ako kung bakit tumalon ‘yung issue from business to binahay na.”

(I made it an Airbnb, but because of the pandemic, we were forbidden to open for Airbnb. Of course, as a friend, a close friend, Dom asked me if I wanted to have it rented. I just laughed at why the issue jumped from business to us living together.)

Meanwhile, Suntay sorted out the allegations that he gave a gasoline station to the actor, saying that Roque was at first their celebrity driver and later became the celebrity endorser of his gasoline business.

“Kung talagang magre-research lang makikita nila na as early as five years ago, talagang brand ambassador na si Dominic. Ang nakakagulat nga ‘yung pinost pa nilang picture, ‘yung contract signing namin ni Dom na kinukuha siyang endorser,” he clarified.

(If they really do the research, they will see that as early as five years ago, Dominic was really a brand ambassador. What’s surprising is the picture they posted, the contract signing between Dom and me when he was hired as an endorser.)
