Filipina actress Alessandra de Rossi received recognition from the city hall of Martano, Italy, for “excellent professional results achieved at an international level in the cinematographic world.”
The award-winning actress took to Instagram to share photos of her receiving the plaque of recognition from the town officials.
De Rossi, who is half-Italian courtesy of her father, Luigi Schiavone, was accompanied by her family members, including her sister actress, Assunta de Rossi.
“Thank you, @comunemartano, for the recognition. See you next time. Thanks for everything,” Alessandra wrote in Italian.
Congratulatory messages from fans and fellow celebrities, including Sandy Andolong, Dolly de Leon, and Donita Rose, among others, poured in the comment section.
“Congratulations, kung ano pa man ibig sabihin. Başta, you deserve it!!!” said Andolong.
After making her television debut in the comedy series “Oka Tokat,” De Rossi rode to stardom after playing Valentina in the series “Darna” (2005) opposite Angel Locsin.
In 2017, the Kapuso actress co-starred in the romantic comedy film “Kita Kita.” At the time, the film became the highest-grossing Filipino independent film of all time, earning ₱300 million, approximately US$5.88 million.
Over the years, the 40-year-old actress won various acting plums, including two Famas for “Watch List” and “Azucena” and two Gaward Urians for “Watch List” and “Sta. Niña.”
Her recent roles include “Firefly,” “Replacing Chef Chico,” and “Walang KaParis,” among others.
De Rossi previously stated that joining the show business wasn’t in her original plans.
“I had no ambitions that I wanted to become famous—it wasn’t part of my plans. I just wanted to see myself on television and say, ‘That’s me! ’ When that happened, I was all good. And I couldn’t ask for anything else,” she said in an interview with the Philippine Daily Inquirer.
Meanwhile, Biboy Ramirez recently admitted that he and de Rossi fell in love with each other even before they starred in the 90s TV series “Click.”
