Taylor Swift expressed grief for the victims of a knife attack in Southport, England, which happened at a dance class themed around the singer’s music.
The rampage, in which a 17-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder, resulted in the death of three children aged 9, 7 and 6.
“The horror of yesterday’s attack in Southport is washing over me continuously, and I’m just completely in shock,” Swift wrote on her Instagram Stories on Tuesday, July 30.
“The loss of life and innocence, and the horrendous trauma inflicted on everyone who was there, the families and first responders. These were just little kids at a dance class,” she stated. “I am at a complete loss for how to ever convey my sympathies to these families.”
King Charles III also extended condolences to the family of the victims through The Royal Family’s Instagram Stories.
According to an online listing, the Taylor Swift-themed workshop was held for children aged about 6 to 11. It was led by two women—a yoga instructor and a dance instructor.
While further details on the suspected attacker have yet to be disclosed, police said they are not treating the attack as terror-related.
The attacks also left 10 other individuals injured, with seven of them in critical condition.
