Being one of the icons for the youth, especially when it comes to dancing, is a “humbling” experience, yet a “big responsibility” for Niana Guerrero, one that she is not taking lightly.

During her launch as a new endorser of a cosmetic brand on Tuesday, July 30, INQUIRER.net had a brief interview with Guerrero where she expressed her gratitude for being referred to as a global youth icon. She also took the opportunity to advise fellow young ladies to make the right choices even in the face of adversities or receive criticism for expressing themselves.

“It’s amazing and also humbling. I think it’s a big – great – responsibility, and it’s also an opportunity to inspire young people, which I’m very grateful for,” she expressed.

In the era where young ladies are primed for self-expression, but often get criticized for their choices, the 18-year-old content creator encouraged fellow ladies to continue choosing what’s best for them.

“It’s important that you make your own choices for yourself. You can’t really win everybody. Have friends who support you in everything you do. Whatever makes you happy, at the end of the day, that’s what’s important,” said the social media star.

Guerrero rose to fame with her incredible dance covers which she posts on social media. Over the years, the young internet personality has met and collaborated with different international celebrities, including Troye Sivan, Sabrina Carpenter, Billie Eilish, and Meghan Trainor, among others.

As the most-followed Filipino TikToker, Guerrero has had some interesting interactions with celebrities on social media. For instance, Jungkook of K-pop sensation BTS follows her on TikTok and has praised her dancing skills, including EXO member Chanyeol.

She was also almost cast as a talent by one of South Korea’s biggest agencies, SM Entertainment, the management behind many popular K-pop groups including Super Junior, Girls’ Generation, EXO, Red Velvet, and aespa, among others.
