GMA Network issued an official statement on Tuesday, July 30, assuring that it will take “matters with utmost seriousness” after posts about two consultants hired by the network who allegedly sexually abused a young actor made the rounds of social media

Without specifically mentioning the articles or the names of the parties involved, GMA said that it will take action once a formal complaint has been filed alluding to the incident.

“Online articles and posts have recently circulated regarding an alleged incident involving an artist and independent contractors of GMA Network. We have yet to receive a formal complaint from those allegedly involved in the issue. Should one be filed, the network is committed to conducting a thorough and impartial investigation. The statement comes after the blind items reported that two Kapuso consultants allegedly took advantage and sexually abused a young actor whose name was withheld after the network’s recent gala night, held at a luxury hotel in Taguig City.

Further reports also claimed the victim was the son of an actor who comes from a known showbiz clan.

Eventually, entertainment insider Ogie Diaz took to Instagram to seemingly confirm the allegations as he reacted to the social media post, as he urged against the cover-up of the issue.

“Anong muntik? May nangyari talaga. Believe me. ‘Wag na pagtakpan. Dapat ipaglaban at makuha ang hustiya para sa inabuso. (three heartbroken emojis),” he wrote. (What do you mean almost? Something really happened. Believe me. Don’t cover it up. One must fight and get justice for the abused.)
