Actress and TV anchor KaladKaren received a second marriage proposal from her longtime British boyfriend, Luke Wrightson, with a beautiful scenery in London as the backdrop.
KaladKaren, also known as Jervi Li, took to Instagram to share some photos from the dreamy proposal, saying that she thought they were just going to do a normal prenuptial shoot.
“Proposal 2.0!!! [crying emojis] Heart is full, hand is heavy! [wedding emojis] #TheWrightsons,” she began in her caption. “Luke and I got engaged in the middle of the pandemic four years ago. It was just us two locked down in our apartment, and we didn’t even have the chance to have a proper photo shoot until now.”
“I thought it was just an ordinary prenup shoot! Sobrang gulat ko nang muli siyang nag-propose here in our favorite city at may ring upgrade!!!! (I was very surprised when he proposed again here in our favorite city and with a ring upgrade) Huhuhu worth the wait! You make me the happiest, my love!” added the actress-host.
After dating for eight years, the couple announced their engagement in 2020. KaladKaren shared that Wrightson proposed to her while they were enjoying a casual date at their apartment’s balcony.
The “Frontline Pilipinas” anchor said that Wrightson did not have any intention to propose that night, which was why they were wearing their “pambahay,” or ordinary clothes, when it happened.
“Dati noong bata ako, akala ko wala ng taong magmamahal sa akin dahil bakla ako, transgender ako, at naiiba raw ako,” KaladKaren wrote in her caption when she announced the first proposal.
(When I was young, I thought no one would love me because I am gay, I am transgender, and I am, as they say, different.)
“It was a fantastic night. I think it’s one of the nights that I will never forget in my life,” she added, describing the first proposal.
The couple is set to mark their 12th anniversary next month.
Meanwhile, KaladKaren rose to fame for her impersonation of broadcaster Karen Davila and for being an advocate for the LGBTQ+ community.
