Willie Revillame seemingly threw shade at his competitor shows after his new variety show “Wil to Win” reportedly posted low ratings during its premiere week.

On the July 16 episode of his new game show, Revillame made some remarks about “originality” after Dingdong Dantes’ show “Family Feud” posted a tally of ratings of them beating “Wil to Win” and “Goin’ Bulilit.”

(You know life is fun; for me, you are the ratings. If you see someone showing their ratings that they are high, we are not affected because our heart is to give you joy and hope.)

(That’s okay, we don’t have anything. We’ll just keep working here at TV5. We will arrange to make you happy every day, and the important thing is that this show is original. We thought about it for you. It’s not bought from other countries. With us, you have a lifetime program.)

Revillame then mentioned the July 15 episode of “Family Feud,” where they guessed the host’s daughter, Meryll Soriano, and sister-in-law, Diamond Star Maricel Soriano.

Ano ba ‘to, labanan ba ‘to,’ Tulungan natin ang mga kababayan nating naghihirap. Basta kami ayun lang ang purpose namin,” he remarked.

(And we air live. The funny thing is when I went live yesterday, the other show guessed my daughter and Ms. Maricel, what does that mean, ‘Why? What the hell is this? Is this a competition? Let’s help our countrymen who are suffering. That’s our purpose.)

His rants, however, were not taken well by some viewers.

Eleven years after he hosted “Willing Willie/Wil Time Bigtime” and “Wowowillie” on TV5, Revillame marked his return to the Kapatid network as he announced his new show that premiered on July 14, Sunday.

He previously served as the main presenter for “Wowowin,” which aired on GMA Network and ALLTV from 2015 until 2023.
