Hollywood actress Emma Roberts announced that she is engaged to actor Cody John after two years of dating.
The “Scream Queens” star took to Instagram to show off her engagement ring in a selfie with her fiancee with the caption, “Putting this here before my mom tells everyone [red heart emoji].”
In the comments section, fellow celebrities including Lea Michele, Nina Dobrev and Ashley Tisdale extended their congratulations to the newly engaged couple.
“Already planning the bachelorette!!!! So happy for you, babe!!!” wrote Michele, appending a heart-eye and pink heart emoji.

John first affirmed his relationship with Roberts after posting a picture of them sharing a kiss on Instagram in August 2022. The 33-year-old actress then uploaded a photo of her holding John’s hand on New Year’s Day.
Roberts was previously engaged to “American Horror Story” co-actor Evan Peters and had a child with “Troy” actor Garrett Hedlund in 2019.
The former Nickelodeon teen star previously told Flaunt that it was difficult for her to date fellow actors.
“It’s hard, I think, for two actors to be together. I’m trying to think if I’ve seen it done successfully. Also, the actors I’ve been with border on method actors, and that is something that I think is extremely difficult to be in a relationship with,” she expressed.
In an interview with Cosmopolitan in 2019, Roberts explained why she doesn’t want to talk about her relationships, stressing the lack of privacy she experiences as a celebrity.
“I never want to talk about relationships I’m in or that are ending or have ended. It’s hard enough to be with someone by yourself, let alone with an audience. Growing up is hard. Sometimes it makes me sad that I can’t have a private moment,” she said at the time.
Aside from establishing herself in the horror and thriller genres on television, Roberts has appeared in the films “Aquamarine” (2006), “Nancy Drew” (2007), “We’re the Millers” (2013) and “Holidate” (2020), among others.
She is also known as the niece of Hollywood superstar Julia Roberts.
