“Captain America: Brave New World” has been a long time coming. It has been approximately two years. This has been in pre-production for a long time. At one point, this film was originally titled “Captain America: New World Order,” with The Serpent Society as the main enemies, and that got a lot of us excited about that one. In fact, WWE Superstar Seth Rollins was included as a member of The Serpent Society.
Although filming for the Serpent Society was complete, they were unfortunately not included in the final cut of “Captain America: Brave New World” after numerous rewrites and reshoots, a major letdown for many fans. Eventually, after more time has passed, this led to the upcoming movie having an estimated budget of over $350 million, making it one of the biggest in the history of the MCU. Yes, rewrites and reshoots cost a lot of money.
Personally, I would have preferred if The Serpent Society had been included in the final cut of this upcoming movie. As a longtime comic-book reader and collector, I know that some of the most formidable supervillains Captain America has ever faced can be found in Marvel Comic Books, upon which the MCU movies are based or inspired.
Additionally, the Serpent Society’s interesting, unique and cool costumes, as well as their specific abilities, make them captivating for comic-book readers and collectors. It would also appeal to moviegoers if they were part of a movie. Well, whatever the reason for their removal, I still hope the movie includes real enemies for the superhero to battle. Without super-villains, how can this be considered a superhero movie?
On a brighter note, once you watch the official teaser trailer for “Captain America: Brave New World,” you will see why it cost so much to make this movie. The CGI, visual effects, special effects, and practical effects, along with the impressive list of actors – including Harrison Ford and Giancarlo Esposito – are simply astonishing. It is an A+ cast all the way.
How can anyone fail to notice a big, red-colored super-being aptly referred to as the Red Hulk, especially when it is so obvious why he is given that name? I am sure he became this version of everybody’s favorite Hulk not because of exposure to a sudden blast of gamma radiation, but because of something else. It is no secret that Harrison Ford is the Red Hulk. Getting a glimpse of him in the final moments of the teaser trailer is a major reason to watch “Captain America: Brave New World,” as he is the only super-powered being or superhuman shown to be a part of this movie. All the others rely on mechanical suits, weaponry, or martial arts skills, but they do not possess superhuman powers like a superhero or supervillain. It is only the Red Hulk.

I am happy that the official teaser trailer showed some sensible dialogue and depth. A brief excerpt displayed during the conversation between Falcon, now known as the new Captain America, and “Thunderbolt Ross,” portrayed by Harrison Ford, shows that despite the costume improvements and possession of Captain America’s shield, Falcon is not truly Captain America because he is not “Steve Rogers.” That was well said; the perfect lines of dialogue give this upcoming movie a sense of realism. Sam Wilson knows he has to be his superhero and not live in the shadow of Captain America because there can only be one Captain America, and he is not the one.
Interestingly, I do not view this as a direct sequel to the previous Captain America movie that was released a few years ago. It is neither a soft reboot nor a direct continuation of the Disney+ series. “Captain America: Brave New World” is the first solo movie featuring Falcon as the new Captain America.
I suspect “Captain America: Brave New World” will blend espionage, spy action, suspense, and a touch of drama. How can it not, when it is titled ‘Captain America’, but there is no “Steve Rogers” in it? There will be some heavy material and emotional scenes, as the onscreen character “Sam Wilson” portrayed by Anthony Mackie was a good friend of “Steve Rogers,” the real and original Captain America, and to a lesser degree, he was the “old version” of Bucky Barnes to Captain America during their World War 2 era. Nonetheless, whether Falcon willingly wants to carry on the legacy of Captain America or he has no choice but to fill the void, I believe all the questions will be answered.
Now, all we have to do is wait for “Captain America: Brave New World,” which is scheduled to be released in early 2025.
