Sarah Geronimo admitted that she misses doing movies, and would want to return to the big screen someday, but only with the kind of film roles that would send the “right message.”

Geronimo spoke about returning to movies on the sidelines of an insurance event when she was asked if she has plans of coming back to the film industry anytime soon.

“Oo naman, ang tagal kong gustong gumawa ng pelikula. But as you grow older, you become more choosy or hindi naman choosy, [more of] careful with the kind of roles you portray,” she told reporters in a chance interview.

(Of course, I’ve been wanting to make a film for a long time. But as you grow older, you become more choosy, or in other words, more careful with the kind of roles you portray.)

The singer-actress added that she wants to be more mindful of the material she takes on.

“We are messengers also, pati sa pagkanta. Kailangan naming piliin ang right material, but given the right material, go ako anytime,” she said. (We are messengers also, even in singing. We have to choose the right material. But given the right material, I’m up for it anytime.)

When asked if the “right material” includes a film with her husband Matteo Guidicelli, Geronimo said there’s a “right timing” for everything.

“Meron kami dapat gawin pero baka sa 2050 namin gagawin (We were supposed to work together but we might do it on 2050),” Geronimo joked. “May tamang timing ang lahat (There’s a right timing for everything),” she said more seriously.

Apart from her music career, Geronimo starred in several films including “A Very Special Love,” “You Changed My Life,” “It Takes a Man and a Woman,” “Maybe This Time,” and “The Breakup Playlist,” to name a few.
