Hyuna, ex-Highlight member Yong Jun-hyung to marry on October
Hyuna and former Highlight member Yong Jun-hyung are set to tie the knot in an intimate ceremony in October, nine months after going public with their relationship.
Hyuna and Yong’s marriage was first reported by Korean media outlet YTN on Monday, July 8, where they are set to get married on October 11 in Seoul.
The solo artist’s agency AT AREA confirmed the reports on the same day via Newsen, saying the couple will say “I do” in an intimate ceremony witnessed by their family and close friends.

“Hyuna made a promise to marry Yong Jun-hyung, as they have been a great comfort to each other in every difficult moment. In October, they will hold a ceremony with close friends and family and start a new life together,” AT AREA’s statement read.

Yong’s agency Black Made also confirmed the couple’s wedding plans on the same day.
“Yong Jun-hyung and Hyuna, with deep affection and trust for each other, have decided to hold a wedding with close acquaintances this October. We would appreciate warm interest and blessings for Yong Junhyung as he embarks on a new chapter of his life as a married couple,” its statement read via a Soompi translation.
Hyuna and Yong made their relationship public in January 2024 when they shared the same photo of themselves enjoying a romantic walk.

Hyuna was previously in a six-year relationship with former Cube Entertainment labelmate Dawn from 2016 to 2022. They announced their engagement in February 2022, only to break it off nine months later.
The solo artist made her debut as a member of the K-pop girl group Wonder Girls in February 2007. She left the group five months later after suffering from fainting spells and chronic gastroenteritis.
She returned to the K-pop industry as a member of 4Minute in June 2009 and was active until the group’s disbandment in June 2016. Apart from her group activities, she is prominent as a solo artist and as a former member of the K-pop duos Troublemaker and HyunA&DAWN, as well as the sub-unit Triple H.
Meanwhile, Yong made his debut as a member of the Beast in October 2009. After moving from Cube Entertainment to Around Us Entertainment in 2017, the K-pop boy group’s name was subsequently changed to Highlight. He departed from the group in March 2021.
Yong made headlines in 2021 after his name was entangled in the Burning Sun Scandal, one of South Korea’s biggest entertainment and sex scandals. Yong wasn’t directly involved in the crimes committed by celebrities at the time but was one of the personalities identified in the chat rooms. He also admitted to watching “one of the videos” sent in the chat room later.
