Jessy Mendiola-Manzano has no problem if her daughter Isabella Rose decides to enter show business someday, saying she would give her full support to what her daughter wants to do when she comes of age.

Mendiola said in a press con for her Star Magic contract signing that the decision would ultimately depends on her daughter, whether she is comfortable being in front of the camera or not.

“Kung saan siya masaya. If she’s not comfortable being in front of a lot of people, it’s okay. If she is, then good. For me, kung saan siya masaya, I will support her. Hindi na rin stranger ang family namin sa showbiz and politics,” she said in response to INQUIRER.net.

The actress added that she wants to leave Isabella Rose’s life in the hands of the Lord.

“As a mother, kung ano ang [gusto niyang] i-pursue, then go. As long as it’s for [her] growth, happiness, and pagiging content niya. Kung ano ang plano ni Lord, let’s see,” she said.

Luis’ support

One of the reasons why Mendiola decided to enter showbiz again was because of the support lent by her husband Luis Manzano.

“It’s very important. Luis has been there for me. Noong nagpahinga ako sa showbiz for five years, siya ang nag-alaga sa’min (When I took a break from showbiz for five years, he took care of us),” she said of Manzano.

Throughout the event and behind the scenes, Mendiola had been receiving a lot of compliments on how glowing she looked, with some reporters praising that she even became sexier. But for the actress, she pointed out that “all the credit” goes to Manzano.

“It’s because of him. Inalagaan talaga niya ako. Ayokong magpaka-pride. I want to give him all the credit because he’s really a good provider… and that’s why I healed,” she said. “Ang daming nangyari sa’kin and isa siya sa rason kung bakit masaya ako. Tamang headspace ako to join the industry again.”

A lot of things happened, and he’s one of the reasons why I’m happy now. I’m in the right headspace to join the industry again.)

Mendiola added that she feels fired up in her showbiz comeback because of her desire to remind Manzano that she has his back.

“Kaya ako bumabalik sa trabaho (I returned to work) because I want to help him with our household expenses and Rosie. I want him to feel that I got his back,” she said.

Mendiola and Manzano first wed in a civil ceremony in 2021. They got married again at a beach wedding in Palawan three years later. The couple welcomed Rosie in January 2023.

The actress marked her return to showbiz after signing a contract with ABS-CBN’s Star Magic on July 2.
