Jennylyn Mercado‘s management has denied she is leaving GMA after many noticed her absence in the network’s station ID when it was launched recently.
In a statement, Mercado’s manager Becky Aguila shot down rumors that the homegrown Kapuso actress is not keen on renewing her contract with GMA, or is transferring to another network.
“I just want to clarify to those who keeps on insinuating re the issue of network transfer that Jennylyn is a loyal artist of GMA and will always remain loyal for as long as her mother network wants her to stay,” said the veteran artist manager.
Aguila also explained Mercado’s absence during the shoot for the station ID, saying it was due to a conflict in her schedule.
“She was absent from the station ID simply because she was unavailable that day. Rest assured GMA extended an invitation to her, which we very much appreciate,” she continued, pointing out that Mercado’s husband, actor Dennis Trillo was present at the shoot.
Hacked
Meanwhile, the talent manager also addressed the supposed hacking of Trillo’s TikTok page, saying there were some “offensive” comments posted on the actor’s page that did not come from him.
“As for Dennis’ alleged comments on Tiktok, it was not him. Dennis is a very humble and respectful and known to be a man of few words. He is not the type who would release comments that are insensitive to others, most specially to his former colleagues in ABS-CBN where he was first launched via Star Circle. His account was hacked yesterday as what our official statement said,” she stressed.
Aguila said she hopes her statement will “clear everything” as she also made an appeal to the public to “stop spreading hate and false accusations online.”
Trillo made headlines on Monday night, July 1 after he allegedly replied to a comment about his wife transferring to ABS-CBN after she was not seen in GMA’s new station ID.
“May ABS pa ba (Does ABS still exist)?” a comment supposedly from the actor read, which made the rounds of social media.
