Kim Seon-ho, Go Youn-jung to make hearts swoon in ‘Can This Love Be Translated’

South Korean actors Kim Seon-ho and Go Youn-jung will try to make hearts soon in the new romantic comedy series “Can This Love Be Translated,” written by the famed screenwriters Hong sisters.

Kim and Go’s new project was confirmed by a Korean streaming platform on Thursday, June 27, which shared glimpses of the actors in a script reading with their co-stars Sota Fukushi, Lee Yidam, and Choi Woosung.

“Can love bridge a language barrier? A professional relationship between a multilingual translator (#KimSeonho) and a global celebrity (#GoYounjung) blossoms into an unexpected romance,” its post read.

“Written by the renowned Hong sisters (Alchemy of Souls, Hotel del Luna), watch out for the unpredictably heartwarming rom-com ‘Can This Love Be Translated,’” it added.

Per reports, Kim will star as Joo Ho-jin, a “genius” multilingual interpreter with a knack for English, Italian, and Japanese, aside from his native Korean.

Go, on the other hand, will take on the role of Cha Moo-hee, a top actress in South Korea.

Details about the “Can This Love Be Translated’s” plot and premiere date are yet to be revealed, as of press time.

The Hong Sisters Jung-eun and Mi-ran, are known for making popular rom-com and drama series, among them “Sassy Girl Chun-hyang,” “My Girl,” “My Girlfriend is a Gumiho,” “Hotel del Luna,” and “Alchemy of Souls.”

Kim is best known for his performances in the series “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha,” “Start-Up,” “Catch the Ghost,” “Welcome to Waikiki 2,” and “100 Days My Prince.” He debuted as a film actor in “The Childe” in 2023.

Meanwhile, Go made her acting debut in 2019, and has since starred in “Alchemy of Souls,” “Sweet Home,” “Law School,” and “Moving.” Aside from “Can This Love Be Translated,” she will star in “Wise Resident Life,” a spinoff of the hit series “Hospital Playlist.”
