First-time grandmother Jaya, 54, was over the moon as she announced the birth of her grandson Grayson Gage.
The Philippines’ Queen of Soul, who is based in the United States with her family, documented her grandchild’s first few moments after being born, via her Instagram page on Wednesday, June 19.
Dedicating a Bible verse to him, Jaya captioned her post: “Psalms 139: 13 to 14—For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well.”
She continued, “We welcome you with so much joy and so grateful that I get to be your Lola.”
Jaya then expressed her happiness for her son Gavin and his wife Athena who are now parents. “I am so proud and happy for you two. You did it, and did it well. God bless you. Love you.”
The singer along with her husband Gary Gotidoc and their children visited the couple after childbirth, surprising Athena with a bouquet of flowers and a balloon.
“Our apo has finally arrived! Grayson Gage Gara Gotidoc, born June 18, 2024, is [an] absolute gift from heaven for our family,” she wrote in a separate post. “Now, there’s 7 of us. God is so good. Thank you, Lord!”
Fellow celebrities also sent their congratulatory greetings to Jaya and her family via the comments section.

Jaya moved to the US with her family in 2021. At the time, she said she has “surrendered everything to her Maker” and is going to start anew after experiencing a series of challenges during the pandemic.
