Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay shared that he’s been in a near-fatal cycling accident as he showed off the severe bruises he acquired.
The “Hell’s Kitchen” star took to X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram to remind his followers to “wear a helmet” as he pondered how lucky he is to be alive after a brutal crash.
“I had a really bad accident. It really shook me. Honestly, I’m lucky to be here,” he said in the video he posted with his hands shaking, one of the aftermaths he suffered from the accident.
“I’m lucky to be standing here. I’m in pain. It’s been a brutal week. And I’m sort of getting through it,” he continued as he lifted up his white chef’s coat to show a massive black-purple bruise on his torso.
The famous restaurateur reiterated the importance of wearing a helmet “no matter how long or short the trip is,” as it is one of the ways to save lives on the road.

“I don’t care how short the journey is. I don’t care about the fact that these helmets cost money. But they’re crucial. Even with the kids on a short journey, they’ve got to wear a helmet,” said Gordon.
He then extended his greetings for Father’s Day and thanked the trauma surgeons that look after him.
Netizens poured into the comment section of Gordon’s posts and shared their well wishes for the master chief.
“I’m relieved you’re alive. Please, take a rest. Don’t shoot for TV shows. That bruise is big. It must still be very painful. And your hands were still shaking. Take care,” wrote one fan.
Another user wrote, “In our thoughts, Gordon, take the time you need to heal. And most importantly, happy Father’s Day, and be relieved you’re able to spend another one with your precious family.”
