In celebration of Father’s Day, Ria Atayde confirmed that she’s expecting her first child with her husband Zanjoe Marudo.
The actress made the confirmation through a heartfelt Father’s Day message, as seen in photos on her Instagram page on Sunday, June 16. The post showed Atayde and Marudo at what seemed to be a beach getaway, with the actor showing off her baby bump in one of the photos.
“To the dad you already are and the dad I know you’ll be. Love you @onlyzanjoemarudo, so excited for this new chapter with you. Happy first Father’s Day,” she wrote.
Atayde’s post was filled with congratulatory messages from her supporters and fellow celebrities in the comments, including Jason Abalos, Yam Concepcion, Cassy Legaspi, Rachel Peters, Marlo Mortel, Debs Garcia, Alex Diaz and Eula Valdez.

The actress, however, didn’t disclose how long she and Marudo had been expecting their first child.
Atayde’s announcement comes three months after she and Marudo tied the knot at a civil ceremony in Quezon City last March.
Speculations about the actress’ pregnancy arose after the couple announced their engagement in February, citing their first child as the reason behind their wedding. Atayde’s sister Gela denied the allegations a month later, saying the couple was “trying” to have a child.
