Charlie Dizon grateful for God’s timing a week after wedding to Carlo Aquino
Charlie Dizon is still on cloud nine, days after saying “I do” to Carlo Aquino at a private ceremony in Silang, Cavite, last June 9.
Dizon (April Matienzo in real life) thanked her family, close friends and loved ones for “supporting” her journey with Aquino, as seen on her Instagram page on Saturday, June 15.
The post showed more glimpses of the actress’ wedding to Aquino, where they celebrated their special day with their loved ones.
“It’s been a week since our back-to-back weekend!!! First I got my first Best Actress award from one of my dream award-giving bodies, Gawad Urian. Congratulations po uli sa lahat ng kapwa ko nominado and of course sa team #ThirdWorldRomance,” she wrote.
“A day after, I officially became Mrs. Aquino. Grabe ang timing (I have no words about the timing) Lord, I believe this is all you,” she continued.

While recalling her wedding vow, Dizon said she is proud of herself and her husband in the company of people who “genuinely love” them.
“Tulad ng [sinabi] ko sa vows mahal @jose_liwanag, I am proud that we are here today with people who genuinely love us. And that’s what truly matters, celebrating our love with the people who mean the most,” she said while tagging Aquino’s Instagram account.
Dizon and Aquino met in the filming of “A Soldier’s Heart,” which ran from January to September 2020. While sparks initially didn’t fly between the two, the couple reportedly developed feelings during the Star Magic US tour in August 2022.
Aquino confirmed his relationship with Dizon in January 2023, while the actress addressed her “Third World Romance” co-star as her boyfriend six months later.
