Maine Mendoza asks fans to respect celebrities wearing masks in public
Maine Mendoza reminded her followers to “stop” asking public figures to remove their face masks whenever they pose for a photo in a public setting, citing health reasons.
The actress-host said on X (formerly Twitter) that celebrities wear masks not entirely to avoid recognition but for safety reasons as well.
“Random thought dahil ang daming may sakit ngayon. People should stop asking anyone to take off their masks when posing for a photo. Some public figures wear masks in public for reasons beyond just avoiding recognition,” she said.
The “Eat Bulaga” host underscored that being sick would make it harder for people to work, and so wearing face mask would prevent viruses from transferring to other individuals.
“Sometimes, some individuals opt to wear masks because they are unwell and prefer not to risk contracting or spreading a virus. Ang hirap mag trabaho nang masama ang pakiramdam kaya ingat always, fam,” added the actress.

Mendoza recently walked the runway for TernoCon 2024 and said in an interview on the sidelines that she had been struggling with rhinitis for almost a week already.
“Kuwento ko lang, I’ve been struggling with the worst rhinitis ever, and I was worried it would get triggered during the show because I’ve been sneezing nonstop since last Wednesday,” she said.
“Anyway, I’m glad nag-cooperate ang allergens tonight. I did not embarrass myself tonight,” she expressed, adding that she was also struggling with loose footwear during the fashion show.
Meanwhile, the TV personality previously reacted to a blind item about a female TV host who was accused of being banned from a beauty clinic because of a rude attitude.
“Da who [ang] female show host na kilala bilang masa at kalog, [napakataray] in real life,” the TikTok post read. “According to a clinic owner, banned na ang host from her business dahil walang respeto sa staff niya ito.”
Mendoza, seemingly confused why the people were tagging her in the comments section, replied, “Ako agad?”
