LANY lead vocalist Paul Klein said he is currently recovering following hospitalization after being hit by a car while riding his Vespa, adding he is “fortunate to still be here.”

On the band’s Instagram and X (formerly Twitter) accounts, the guitarist detailed how he got involved in the vehicular accident, saying he “cried a lot” and that the recovery process is a “challenge.”

“On Thursday night of last week, I got hit by a car while I was on my Vespa heading home from the gym. I don’t really remember anything after the collision. I woke up on a stretcher being put into an ambulance,” he said.

“I’ve cried a lot of thankful and happy tears during the last few days. I know how fortunate I am to still be here. All of my vitals are good, but walking and moving around is still a challenge,” continued the singer.

Klein underscored that they are postponing their concert dates in the meantime and thanked the fans for their understanding.

“I’m getting progressively better though, and I will be at 100% really soon. The doctors have advised we reschedule our upcoming shows in Australia and New Zealand to fast-track my recovery,” he said.

“Thank you for understanding. This experience has only intensified the feelings of purpose I have, so I can’t wait to heal up and get back to it,” added the vocalist.

Aside from Klein, LANY’s other member is drummer Jake Clifford Goss. Guitarist Les Priest left the band in 2022 ahead of the release of their most recent album, “A Beautiful Blur.”

The pop-rock band is set to return to the Philippines for another concert this October .

Last year, they held a five-day concert in SM Mall of Asia Arena. At the time, Klein said that the band loved the Philippines so much.

“We’re coming back for the rest of our lives. Next year, next year, and next year. We love you. Mahal kita,” he said.
