Oscar-winning “A Beautiful Mind” writer Akiva Goldsman, who served as one of the writers in the original film, will return to pen the screenplay for the new movie, with Bullock and Kidman expected to produce alongside Denise Di Novi, who’s also known for other female-focused flicks including “Heathers” (1988) and “Little Women” (1994).

“Practical Magic” was adapted from the 1995 novel of the same name by Alice Hoffman and directed by Griffin Dunne. The first film became a classic, especially during the spooky season.

In “Practical Magic,” Sally (Bullock) and Gillian (Kidman) are sisters who come from a long line of witches. They get tangled up with a death and curse that forbid them from finding real love.

“If Nicole and Sandra return for a Practical Magic movie, that will quite literally be the best day of my life,” wrote one fan.

Bullock was last seen in theaters with the Paramount adventure rom-com “The Lost City,” opposite Channing Tatum, which grossed over $100 million at the domestic box office.

Meanwhile, Kidman was recently on screen in the Amazon series “Expats,” working with our very own Filipino actress Ruby Ruiz. The Hollywood actress is also set to return for the third season of “Big Little Lies” with Reese Witherspoon, Laura Dern, Shailene Woodley, Zoë Kravitz and Meryl Streep.
