Heart Evangelista hands-on in stepdaughter Chesi’s prom preparations

Busy schedule did not hinder Heart Evangelista from doing her mom duties, as she personally assisted her stepdaughter Chesi in preparing for her first-ever prom.

The actress-fashion personality documented Chesi’s preparations and behind-the-scenes moments with her escort, young actor Bryce Eusebio, as seen on Evangelista’s Instagram page last Saturday, June 8.

Chesi looked radiant in a sparkly fringe dress by Filipino designer Michael Leyva. She was glammed up by celebrity makeup artist Memay Francisco.

“Our baby is now [a] lady! Our darling Chesi [is] surrounded by her friends and loved ones as she officially goes to her first prom,” Evangelista captioned her post.

Evangelista and Chesi’s moments earned compliments from netizens, with most of them pointing out the actress’ motherly warmth.

“Seeing Heart in her mother mode makes my heart warm, I don’t even know why. Nakaka-happy lang panoorin,” one @timepersmuna said.

“Love the vibe! Love the authentic happiness and love!” wrote @pairedcastle.

Chesi is the daughter of Evangelista’s husband, Sen. Francis “Chiz” Escudero, from his previous marriage. Chesi has a twin brother named Quino.

Chesi and Quino appear to share a good relationship with Evangelista, whom they thanked for being their “mother figure” during the height of the pandemic in 2020.

“Thank you for always being here for us and being basically our mother figure while in quarantine and we don’t see Daddy and our mom everyday,” read Quino’s letter to Evangelista at the time.

“We saw how strong you are and how you can take care of a household without having experience as a parent,” he added. “…We will also promise to be there for you as you have been there for us, especially these past few weeks.”
