Carlo Aquino and Charlie Dizon are the talk of the town after they surprised fans with their intimate wedding in Silang, Cavite, more than a year after going public with their relationship.

Details of the wedding were kept sealed by the couple’s family, close friends, and planners in the days leading to their special day on Sunday, June 9 at a private resort in Silang, Cavite. The ceremony incidentally took place a day after Dizon accepted her Best Actress trophy at the 47th Gawad Urian Awards.

Among the highlights of the night was the couple’s vows with Aquino saying he found “peace” in the form of Dizon, as seen in a clip uploaded by one @kowalerts on X (formerly Twitter).

(I’m thankful to the God above because He didn’t let me down. I prayed for peace and He gave it to me in the form of you, love. You gave me a chance to choose you everyday. What I can promise you is when our feelings get tired, when there are days where we love each other less, I will never forget to love the person you are.)

Meanwhile, Dizon said having the chance to work with Aquino shed light on the actor’s “good qualities,” of which she wanted in a future partner.

“Nakita ko ‘yung goals mo ay aligned sa goals ko. Ang pagiging family oriented mo, kung paano mo kami alagaan or paano ka when it comes to your loved ones… siguro, ‘yun ang pinakasign na ikaw ay para sa’kin,” she said.

(I saw how your goals aligned with mine. Your family-oriented nature and how you took care of us, especially when it comes to your loved ones, I guess it was a clear sign that you’re the man for me.)

Star-studded ceremony

Among the celebrities emotional at the wedding were Belle Mariano, Alexa Ilacad, Kaila Estrada, Elisse Joson, Sue Ramirez, Loisa Andalio, Adrian Lindayag, and Sylvia Sanchez, as seen in posts by wedding photographer Myio Okamoto and event stylist Dave Sandoval.

The wedding was also attended by Charo Santos-Concio, ABS-CBN CEO Carlo Katigbak, Art Atayde, Olivia Lamasan, Maricel Soriano, Vilma Santos-Recto, and Cavite 2nd district rep. Lani Mercado-Revilla, as seen on the Instagram page of the “Maalaala Mo Kaya” host.

A night of ‘romance’

According to Sandoval, Aquino and Dizon’s wedding was crafted to be a night of romance with a “romantic indoor garden” as the centerpiece. Shades of blush pink were also the key colors of the ceremony, as it’s said to be the actress’ “favorite color.”

“We crafted a romantic indoor garden for Carlo and Charlie’s nuptials, with a mirrored walk, symmetrical lines, and floral accents in the bride’s favorite color of blush pink and other pastels,” Sandoval wrote in one of his posts.

More photos of Aquino and Dizon’s wedding looks were also shared by their makeup artists and designers on social media.

The actor looked dashing in his dark green suit by Paulo Lazaro, while Dizon looked divine in her Steph Tan wedding gown with a v-neck and backless design, with the bodice adorned with floral appliques.

The actress’ bridal look was put together by makeup artist Marben Talanay and hairstylist July Vito.

Aquino confirmed he and Dizon are dating in January 2023, while the actress referred to him as her boyfriend in July of the same year.
