After riding on the viral “Pantropiko” dance challenge using the phenomenal hit of the P-Pop girl group Bini with the same title, the Binibining Pilipinas candidates took on another viral trend, the “Asoka” makeup transformation challenge.
The national pageant posted the individual videos of all 40 delegates in their makeup transformation, which also transition to them wearing their spectacular national costumes.
The video series, shared on the Bb. Pilipinas pageant’s Facebook page and YouTube channel, also serves as a teaser for the much-awaited national costume competition next week.
In April, the Bb. Pilipinas candidates took on the “Pantropiko” dance challenge during their dance workshop, another activity that has become an annual tradition for the national competition.
They will now trade their dance gear for elegant attires that reflect the country’s vibrant culture, rich heritage, and exemplary craftsmanship.

The annual national costume competition is one of the most eagerly anticipated events of the Bb. Pilipinas pageant, where spectators marvel at the spectacular costumes created by talented Filipino designers.
Previous winners of the competition include Jeanne Isabelle Bilasano with her Mayon Volcano-inspired terno, Graciella Lehman in her “tikbalang” costume, and Emma Tiglao in her voluminous attire created by persons deprived of liberty.
Catch the Binibinis showcase the Philippines’ culture and heritage at the 2024 National Costume Competition that will be held at the New Frontier Theater at the Araneta City in Quezon City on June 11, eve of the Philippine Independence Day celebration.
The 2024 Bb. Pilipinas Grand Coronation Night will be held on July 7 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum at the Araneta City. The two winners will receive P1 million each, while the runners-up will each get P400,000.
The eventual winners will represent the Philippines in the 63rd Miss International pageant next year, and in The Miss Globe competition later this year.
